Fabrics we keep on the bench
Alpine Cloud Studio selects cloth for breathability, drape, and how it behaves after repeated washing in Kuala Lumpur water. Swatches live in labelled bins along the north wall of the workshop. During your fitting we pull options that match garment type, skin sensitivity, and care habits.
Cotton poplin and voile — crisp shirts, lined dresses with structure. Voile for soft blouses that need less ironing than poplin.
Linen and linen blends — summer trousers and relaxed shirts. We pre-wash before cutting so shrinkage is controlled.
Wool tropical and gabardine — office trousers and lightweight jackets for air-conditioned towers. Dark navy and charcoal hold up well on train commutes.
Silk habutai and crepe — evening blouses and dresses. Lining recommendations included for opacity and comfort.
Denim and chambray — casual shirts, chore jackets, sturdy skirts. Weight noted on each swatch card.
Client-supplied fabric is accepted when yardage and fibre content are confirmed suitable for the pattern. We reserve the right to decline cloth that may slip on the machine or bleed dye. Contact [email protected] to schedule a swatch session without a full fitting.
