Made to measure

Made-to-measure work at Alpine Cloud Studio begins with a forty-minute fitting at 8 River Road. We measure over the clothes you normally wear beneath the garment type: a thin tee for shirts, smooth trousers for skirt commissions. Nothing is ordered from a factory; patterns stay in our flat files with your name and revision notes.

Shirt commissions include collar point length choices, cuff width, and vent depth for tropical offices. Trouser commissions account for break at the shoe and ease when you sit in a low car seat. Dress commissions discuss lining, closure type, and whether you need pockets that lie flat under a belt bag.

Pricing is quoted after the first fitting once fabric weight and construction details are chosen. Deposits secure bench time and fabric allocation. Balance is due at final pickup. Standard timeline is three to four weeks; complex lined pieces may need five.

One revision is included in the quoted price: pin adjustments at a second fitting before final sewing. Additional revisions are billed at bench rate if the change alters the original approved design substantially.

Bring reference garments that fit well in the shoulder or waist even if hem length is wrong—we can translate those proportions into new patterns. Photos of styles you like are welcome; we will explain what is realistic for your fabric choice and budget.
